But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his bapti sm, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be bapti zed with the bapti sm that I am bapti zed with? They say unto him, We are able.

And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be bapti zed with the bapti sm that I am bapti zed with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

The bapti sm of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

John did bapti ze in the wilderness, and preach the bapti sm of repentance for the remission of sins.

But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be bapti zed with the bapti sm that I am bapti zed with?

And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the bapti sm that I am bapti zed withal shall ye be bapti zed:

The bapti sm of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the bapti sm of repentance for the remission of sins;

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being bapti zed with the bapti sm of John.

But I have a bapti sm to be bapti zed with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

The bapti sm of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

Beginning from the bapti sm of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
